Confessions and Confessors
The Sacrament of Confession will be offered throughout the conference thanks to the generosity of priests from throughout the State of New York and Missionaries of Mercy from other parts of the country.
Confessors will use, first, the seven available confessions found within the Coliseum. Priests will also use individual tents set up right outside the Coliseum or, in inclement weather on Friday and Sunday, even in less crowded areas of the Shrine.
In addition to the continuous confessions, there will be two extraordinary times when dozens of priests will be hearing: during Saturday lunch time (12:30-2:30) and Saturday dinner time (5:00-6:30). Most of these confessors will be in tents, but the seven confessionals in the Shrine will likewise be used.
The Congress program (pp. 120-128) has an examination of conscience sheet and a "how to go to confession" sheet in case anyone has been away from the Sacrament and needs help.
Many priests will be able to hear confessions in multiple languages, especially English and Spanish, and have been asked to print out sheets indicating the languages they can use. You should easily be able to find a priest who will be able to help you in the language you would be most comfortable in.
